These shy creatures are four-horned antelope @assamstatezoo. Found only in India and Nepal, very little is known about this species due to their elusive nature. Despite the fact that these antelopes have a wide distribution and occupy open forests, they are rarely seen, as they will sprint for cover at the first sign of a disturbance. While it may seem counterintuitive, the difficulty of seeing this species in the wild is actually one of the main drivers of ecotourism in India - just catching a quick glimpse is seen as the ultimate reward. To help support species like this one, consider going out to view local wildlife on your next vacation. I think more places should offer wildlife photo trips. I know that is what I look for if I want to go somewhere. Like the bird photoshops in Costa Rica, I am definitely planning on doing that soon. 😍
