A few years ago, I was lost and brokenhearted and decided to go to Bali. It was my first time solo travelling, and in true 'Eat, Pray, Love' fashion, I went to go see a Balinese healer. I still think of her words of wisdom reguarly, and one of the best pieces of advice she gave me was that showing vulnerability doesn't make you weak. Life is way too short to waste on games, pride, or people who don't love you back or deserve you. Someone sent me this poem yesterday, and it reminded me of the strength in being honest and showing vulnerability, so I thought I'd share it for anyone who needs to read it. I swear we all waste too much of our time and energy playing games and fearing rejection, and we regret the things we don't say. 💕
Unrequited love.
If I love you,
I will tell you that I love you.
And if you choose to leave
I might beg you to stay
because
I love you.
But I can't make you stay
if you choose to walk away.
Rest assured,
I will not pretend not to care
just to deny that you were the one to leave.
