“It’s surreal,” said the dancer Krystal Butler of “Untitled,” a classic @pilobolus work. “I see myself being this younger sister following my older sister: We go on a walk and meet these young men along the way.” It gets bizarre: Part of the company’s @thejoycetheater season through Saturday, “Untitled” features Krystal (in pale pink) as one of two 19th-century-looking women who stand at twice their height in parts of the work. (They’re aided by 2 male dancers hiding under the women’s skirts.) For Renée Jaworski, a former dancer who shares artistic director duties with Matt Kent, the work “is about society and outward appearance — and also what’s going on inside,” she said. “Those things can get muddled. They push against each other.” They brought back Martha Clarke, a founding member, to help restage the production. “She made it relevant for these dancers,” Renée told the #nytimes writer @giadk. “She kept asking, ‘Does this make sense to you? Why don’t we change this?’ We were like, yes! Freedom.” @classiclydia made this video for #SpeakingInDance, our weekly series exploring the world of #dance.
