These diptych prints show Dorothy Gallegos, of Spanish and indigenous descent with ancestors tracing back to early settlements in New Mexico. On the right is a snow fence in Saratoga, Wyoming near the early 19th century Mexico-U.S. border. Before the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, Mexico was twice as big and ruled the Far West.
