The Fremont cottonwood is a common, but beautiful sight along riparian zones in the Southwest, and is striking when contrasted against a sandstone wall. The drive along Utah State Highway 95 from Hanksville to Hites Bridge over the Colorado River is full of such scenery as well as more expansive views of the arid desert landscape.
