These reclusive primates live only in Borneo and Sumatra, often in the treetops of cloud forests. Critically endangered, they are under constant pressure from deforestation and habitat loss due to logging and palm oil plantations. The Orangutan population has fallen by at least 80 percent in the past 75 years.
