Photo by @Robert Clark // It is always great to spend time visiting my father, a few weeks ago I made it home to Western Kansas. He will be 95 this summer and is still walking a mile or so every day.
Truly part of the Greatest Generation. He joined the service in 1944 and served until 1947.
Enlisted in July, he went and had an operation to fix a medical issue so he could join.
He went on to basic training, so as, as he says he could "learn to march and make the bed."
His tour in the Navy took him from the North Atlantic to the South Pacific where he witnessed the surrender of the Marshall Islands by the Japanese.
He then came home and he and my mom raised 6 kids and sent them all to college.
Proud to be named after him.
