As #WomensHistoryMonth comes to a close, we take a look at one of the most successful living photographers, American artist Annie Leibovitz. Born in Connecticut in 1949, she studied art at the San Francisco Art Institute, where she developed an interest in photography. A prolific photographer for Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and Vogue, her images of Whoopi Goldberg, Demi Moore, and Steve Martin are among the most recognizable portraits of the 20th century and will be offered in the Photographs sale in New York on 5 April.
