Met an old friend today. Nigerian Special Envoy Ibrahim Gambari and I last met more than a decade ago, when he was the UN Special Rapporteur to Myanmar. Much has happened since then, and we had a good exchange on developments in our respective parts of the world.

We have been steadily growing our bilateral ties. Many Nigerian officials have come for the Singapore Cooperation Programme, in public administration and economic development. We also have the biennial Singapore-Sub-Saharan Africa High-Level Ministerial Exchange Visits, and meet often at international fora.
