Meet Albert Bennett. In 1955, he found what he thought was an ideal place to live in #GreenwichVillage, #NewYork. It was $90 a month. He never left. “It was absolutely perfect,” said Albert, now 93. 63 years and 6 landlords later, he still thinks so – even if his rent is now nearly $900 and he’s moved upstairs in the building. In the 1980s, he had 2 loft beds built: “the master bedroom and the guest room.” Unfortunately, while he’s in remarkably good health for a nonagenarian, he said, a balance problem prevents him from climbing up. “I hated giving that up.” He now sleeps on the sofa in the living room. As for living in #NYC as a senior citizen: “I’ve only got to love it more and more,” said Albert, who grew up in Piedmont, California. “The only thing I miss is the ocean, but I have the river, and I go there every chance I get.” @kmarksphoto shot this photo of Albert.
