This lingerie's seriously making me consider unblocking my ex so he knows what he's missing. 😉
This afternoon I was invited to meet one of my favourite lingerie brands @honeybirdette in a beautiful hotel room. I went into the bathroom to try some things on, and it really made me feel a type of way and I wished I could talk to my 15/16 year old self. ❤️
I've talked about this before but as a teen, I spent a lot of time hating and being ashamed of my body. I was slut-shamed, not allowed to wear the same clothes as my friends, and actually it was only once I stopped wearing wearing makeup and started dressing prudish that I was picked on less by the teachers (despite always getting A grades). My body made me feel slutty so I covered it up and as a result I felt ashamed of myself. It's a feeling that stayed with me a long time. 💔
So today, as I looked in the mirror wearing all this amazing lingerie, I felt sexual and empowered and I thought how far I had come. So to anyone who feels like teenage Ashley: your body does not define your morals. Your body is not something to be ashamed of. Don't let other people's issues dim your light, and own your sexuality! Let people step up to your level, and don't step down for their acceptance. You are allowed to feel sexy and love your self. It doesn't make you arrogant, and if you don't love and respect yourself then others won't either (I've learnt that the hard way). Honestly, THANK YOU @honeybirdette for making lingerie that made me feel like this, and for gifting me this set...
