The World at Night photography
Sound on and enjoy this minute of nature’s spectacular show in the far north, as captured across the entire sky with a fisheye lens. It was March 17, 2015, when the strongest aurora borealis in years, appeared in the Earth sky. I was in Iceland for my annual aurora photo workshop when I noticed particles of a major solar storm is on the way to the Earth. The lights began to dominate the sky early in twilight and continued the entire night with several crowns forming overhead. This timelapse video shows the first two hours of the night. It’s far more amazing to watch this fulldome clip inside a large planetarium.
