Here, a dazzle of zebra gather at the Manyara Ranch Conservancy, a 35,000-acre conservancy just north of Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park, and set against the towering backdrop of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Plains zebras, like these, live together in family units consisting of a stallion, several females and their young, and they will often come together with other family units to form staggering herds numbering in the thousands.
