Art by @renan_ozturk // Sometimes travel memories take an unexpected form. For me I represented landscapes via mixed media art for years before I ever picked up a camera. This piece was created at the 13K foot Shipton Basecamp in the Trango Towers, Karakoram Himalaya.  @cedarwright and I had just climbed the first ascent of the SW Cat Ear Spire, the pointy one in the painting, 2nd from left.  Each big piece of art created in the mountains is connected to a specific adventure and this was one of the most memorable.  It was one of the last remaining unclimbed summits and we balanced on top one at a time because it was so tiny, like standing on a barstool in the sky!
