Dating to 1890, ‘A Happy Pair’ is the first published book to include illustrations by Beatrix Potter. The charming little volume comprises 6 chromolithographed illustrations signed ‘H.B.P’, alongside a handful of whimsical verses from Frederic Weatherly. Predating Potter’s ‘Peter Rabbit’ by over a decade, the incredibly rare volume is thought to survive in only a very limited number of copies.
