Displaying a mesmerizing sequence of black, gray, and white lines, Frank Stella’s ‘Sight Gag’ is one of only two such monumental grayscale works within Stella’s ‘Diderot’ series. Standing a stunning 129-inches in height, this work also ranks among the largest-format examples of the artist’s beloved ‘Concentric Squares’. Notably featured in Stella’s widely-acclaimed travelling survey ‘Frank Stella’, organized by @ニューヨーク近代美術館 in 1987, ‘Sight Gag’ will be on view at our York Avenue galleries in #NYC beginning this Friday, ahead of our Contemporary Art Evening Auction on 14 November. #SothebysContemporary #FrankStella
