Painted in 1945, Marc Chagall’s ‘Les Fruits Enchantés’ is filled with tributes to the artist’s late wife, Bella, who suddenly passed away the year prior: long, tapered candles, bouquets of flowers, baskets of fruit, a canvas deeply saturated with a passionate red hue, and of course, imagery of the couple themselves.
