Created in 1949, this timepiece exemplifies Vacheron Constantin’s innovative approach to case design in the late 1940s and 1950s. The watch incorporates the curvy motifs of the post-WWII era, breaking away from the straight lines of Art Deco.
A range of influences - from automotive and industrial designs to decorative arts - is clearly visible in this piece, which was sold for the first time in New York in the same year it was created.
It will be offered until October 15 in the first ever online sale of vintage timepieces from Vacheron Constantin’s heritage collection. The six wristwatches have been selected by Vacheron Constantin heritage experts and restored in-house by a team of expert vintage watchmakers.
