The lavender fields of the south of France were astonishing in their richness and color, and fragrance. It’s a wonderful assault on the senses to be sure, plus one sense I hadn’t figured on when I went there—hearing. As you get close to the fields after the sun has come up, you can hear them buzzing, literally, with the industrious buzz of thousands of pollinating bees. Thankfully, they are generally too busy going about their tasks to notice you. Wonderful assignment in a beautiful place. #color #lavender #france #portrait
