Am I allowed to talk about aesthetics anymore? Is it wrong to be motivated by the way you look? Do physique based goals make you shallow? Or indicate that you don’t love yourself? 🤔 These are all questions I’ve been asking myself recently. There’s a huge body positivity movement and a shift towards training for overall health; and don’t get me wrong - I love this movement. I’m a part of it! The reason I’ve consistently trained for years isn’t because I’ve been trying to get shredded. It’s because I LOVE to train. I love the way it makes me feel and I love the way it boosts my mood. I encourage others to train for these reasons too 💪🏼 However - I don’t think we should be shaming anyone who trains to feel good in their skin. Anyone who trains to lose weight, get a little leaner or adjust their body composition. These are perfectly valid goals. In reality, these goals are what gets the vast majority of people to start exercising. Then later down the line their mindset often shifts to one based on health. Personally, I celebrate any fitness goal which gets people moving 💦 I have the biggest shoot of my life next month. I know I could do it tomorrow and feel confident in my skin. However, I’m not afraid to say that on the days when I am low on motivation, thinking of that shoot is what gets me out of bed. And that’s ok 👌🏼 So if you’re motivated by aesthetics, don’t feel ashamed of that. No goal is more valid than another. Just ensure you have a positive mindset, enjoy the journey and work on loving yourself from day one 💗 #girlgains #thesculptguide #motivation #fitnessmotivation #gymgirls #girlswholift #fitnessgoals #gymgoals
