Photo by @joepetersburger/@thephotosociety // FILLING THE TANK // Clouded #yellow #butterfly (Colias spp.) sucks nectar from a creeping #thistle (Cirsium arvense). I felt to be really unsuccessful with this species in the last couple of years. Whenever I saw them, they just flew away, or did not even land. It is a common species in the area, so their abundance makes everything even more frustrating... Couple days ago I discovered a spot, where they regularly visited thistles and were really tolerable about my presence. It is a lovely coincidence that the color and hue of the edge of the #wings are pretty similar to the flower. Like he was sucking up the color… Taken about 3 miles from our home in #Hungary.
