Villagers in Attapeu, southeastern Laos, evacuate to safer grounds on July 26 after flash floods engulfed their villages. Authorities in Laos ordered closer monitoring of hydroelectric facilities as they investigate why a dam in the country's southeast collapsed earlier in the week, killing at least 27 people and leaving 131 missing. More than 6,000 people were displaced after, according to state media and reported by the Associated Press, 5 billion cubic meters of water swept away houses across seven villages.
