The longest total lunar #eclipse of the 21st century took place for roughly four hours on July 27, but not everyone was able to see the spectacular view. This lunar eclipse, often called a #bloodmoon because of the reddish hue that the moon appears to take on as it moves through the shadow of the Earth, was visible in the Middle East, Africa, southern Asia, and the Indian Ocean region, but not in North America. It’ll be a mere six months until those in North America will be able to view a lunar eclipse of their own—a #supermoon on Jan. 21, 2019. Video source: CNN
