"We had been snorkelling all day trying to find spotted eagle rays and get close for a good photo at the southern Great Barrier Reef but with no success. They seemed to get scared when we tried approaching them and every time took off like rockets. It was getting dark when we decided to head back to the beach. Just when we were about to finish for the day, this fearless spotted eagle ray appeared from the darkness and glided right underneath me giving me the perfect chance to be close and get a few photos before it had disappeared back into the darkness. One of the most memorable moments on that trip for me.

A good tip for photographing wildlife underwater is to get close and then get closer, but also, to let the animals come to you and don't go chasing them. Often in life, it is best to just relax and let things come to you." - @kristianlainephotography
