"I've been to this place a dozen times and I've never seen such bubble shapes on the sand. The tide was unusually high on that day and the wave every now and then would go over the sand crest and spill over the soft sand. I noticed this effect on my way back from the hill shown in the photo and spent another half an hour waiting for the waves and building compositions.
I wanted to have a nice balance between the distant hill and the sand formations. That's why I picked a 50 mm lens rather than a wide-angle. On the wide-angle, the hill would be too small and the sand part would be too large. And of course, I picked a vertical framing due to the vertically repeating nature of the pattern." - @antongorlin
