Made a day trip to Putrajaya to meet and congratulate PM Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad on his election win.

We had a good chat about the Singapore-Malaysia relationship, which is deep, multi-faceted, and close. Dr Mahathir and I both shared our thoughts on how we can strengthen our ties.

I invited Dr Mahathir to visit Singapore, and to continue our long-standing annual Singapore-Malaysia Leaders’ Retreat. This is something Dr Mahathir himself started back in 1994 with then PM Goh Chok Tong.

Also met with Pakatan Harapan de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, together with Malaysian DPM and Minister of Women’s Affairs and Welfare-designate Datuk Seri @drwanazizah. Mr Anwar is an old friend. It has been more than 20 years since I last met him, back when we were both DPMs. It was good to catch up with him and Dr Wan Azizah again. – LHL ????
