Electric blue geckos like this one are very active and social during the day and can often be found on large trees with leaves that grow more than a meter long. These little geckos are Critically Endangered in their wild home of Tanzania. They are only found in an extremely small region there and are regularly exploited for the illegal pet trade.
To prevent the extinction of birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals, the @cheyennemountainzoo where this gecko was photographed participates in more than 30 cooperative Species Survival Programs.
