Photo @クリス・バーカード. Stretching from Northern California to British Columbia, the Cascades constitute over 700 miles of rugged terrain. Many of these mountains tower over 10,000 feet, the highest being Mount Rainier at 14,410 feet (4,392m). Washington cascades encompass dense rainforest, dry ponderosa pine forest, and bare expanses of dramatic rock. This diversity in experience, and the views that come with it, are some of the reasons I was first drawn to the PNW and have traveled back year after year, and why people travel from all over the globe to experience it for themselves. This photo was taken right after climbing the iconic Golden Horn feature.
