Photo by @amivitale. Mpala passes through low vegetation during her daily nature walk at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e) in Northern Kenya. Mpala came to the sanctuary on June 21  orphaned due to the ongoing drought. Today, she is thriving at Reteti and twice the size as when she arrived.
Reteti is the first community owned and operated elephant sanctuary in Africa and the Samburu keepers are changing the way Samburus relate to wild animals. Follow  @amivitale, @r.e.s.c.u.e and nearby Sarara Camp (@sararacamp) to support and learn more about these initiatives.
