As described by Adriana La Lime from our Modern and Contemporary African art department: “When I stand in front of a work by Abdoulaye Konaté, I am always amazed by his understanding of colour. There is an unabashed love and celebration of hue and variance in tone. Konaté counterbalances his gentle colour gradients with consistency of texture.
