‘Street art was my way of giving back to the people who helped me,’ explains the artist known as Stik. His ‘Little Big Mother’, a unique hand-painted maquette, is a highlight of the Urban Art section in our Prints & Multiples auction in London, with all proceeds going to charity.

The funds will be split between Artification, the London non-profit whose support enabled Stik to create his 125ft mural ‘Big Mother’ in 2014, and the new initiative MyMural, which seeks to encourage London council residents to curate art on their own estates.

Ultimately, says Stik, his art is about ‘helping to give voice to marginalised communities. To draw attention to people saying, ‘‘We are still here. We’ve not gone yet. We’re hanging on.’’’
