#WOMENSDAY. Today we celebrate the strength of women. Meet middle distance runner Hassiba Boulmerka. She won the first Olympic gold medal for Algeria at the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics, the first ever earned by an Arab/African woman in her event, the 1500 metres. Boulmerka, known for training and competing in men’s shorts, fought to overcome prejudice. #IWD2018
