Fluctuating water levels and the increased salinity of California’s Salton Sea have led to an environmental decay that is now nearing catastrophic dimensions. Here, partially submerged remnants, like this dune buggy, are encrusted with salt. I’ve not only photographed the Salton Sea repeatedly over the past years to document the environmental changes over time but also taught regular photo workshops there.
