This 17th century oil painting by the Dutch #landscape artists Jan Wijnants and Adriaen van de Velde bears witness to a historically important time for European art during WWII. Inventory records and labels on the back of the canvas & frame reveal the #painting was seized by the Nazis from the legendary collection of the Viennese Rothschild family, and later recovered by the Monuments Men in Alt Aussee.
