Photo by @jim_sugar | My great buddy Jim Stanfield today received the first Lifetime Achievement Award from @thephotosociety! Stanfield was—and is—the consummate photographer. When he was on the @ナショナルジオグラフィック photo staff, no assignment was too difficult or too arduous for him. He combined mastery of the craft of photography with a humanity that made him a master-storyteller and image maker. He once told me that he would rather be laying in the weeds with the chiggers and mosquitoes than back in the office arguing with editors. I am honored to call him a friend.
