For many years now, I have been photographing a project called “Sleeping Cars.” Driving in L.A. in the dark, I began to consciously observe where these iconic Los Angeles inhabitants reside at night. They rest against backgrounds of varying ambient light on the winding streets of the Hollywood Hills or the flat, gridded suburbs of the Valley. I especially fell in love with the loners, those who command their own space and enjoy showing off their presence.

For several nights I had observed this truck being parked at various locations in West Hollywood, but none of them seemed ideal for a great photograph. Then, one night, when I found it with this mysterious red light in the background…
On my dedicated @sleepingcars IG feed, I am posting photographs of sleeping cars from around the world – specifically images that were shot in Los Angeles.
