Photo by @scottgoldsmithphoto // The warmest day of the fall season provided a good time to corral the leaf stragglers. The thawing ice on the backyard pond exposed several leaves along with a Koi. It was a sad shock to see our frozen pet. We always keep a hole in the ice. We pay close attention to the pH level along with other maintenance, but with all life comes the inevitable. I starred for awhile and thought about what might have caused this departure, then made a photograph to honor the magnificent beauty of this lovely orange creature, our friend. @thephotosociety #koi #death #frozenpond #fallcolors #ice
