Celebrating the #Bestof2017. In June, Andy #Warhol’s first ‘selfie’ soared to £6 million in our Contemporary Art evening sale. Based on an image from a strip of #photographs taken in a #NewYork dime store photo-booth, Self-Portrait, 1963-64, represented the moment #Warhol stepped out from behind the #camera and into the glare of its flashbulb – and the moment that Warhol the icon was born.
