This is outside of one of the most beautiful and inspiring places in the world for me: The National Gallery of Art. Beyond the columns and within its walls, all I can feel is a sense of awe. A space that is filled with art, paintings, sculptures, sketches and a universe of creative expressions from pioneers who lived, breathed, bled and poured themselves out for the sake of beauty, hope, awareness, expression and inspiration. I put my camera and phone away before heading inside because I just wanted to be fully in it this time around. We never quite get to see all the rooms or exhibits whenever we visit, but in a way it leaves a deeper longing to come back and explore again. Thank goodness for the artists, creators, scientists, explorers, designers and innovators. They breathe life, lift spirits, find solutions, tell history, blaze paths, make impossibilities happen, color the world beautiful and remind us that great things come from dreaming first. #tigholidaytravel @thisisground
