Keeping it cool: this very rare 1750s #fan depicts the Harisson Walk in #Bath and the Lower Assembly Rooms which were largely destroyed in a fire in 1820. Also represented are the painter himself, Thomas Loggan and Beau Nash, a celebrated dandy and leader of fashion in 18th-century Britain, who was largely responsible for the rise of the spa town as a fashionable resort. This fragment of history will be offered in our “From Earth to Fire” sale – exclusively dedicated to European Ceramics, Silver and Objects of Vertu - on 1st November and is currently on view in our #London galleries. #SothebysdecArts
