Our Contemporary Art Sales achieved £68.7 million in #London tonight, with the second highest price ever achieved for David Hockney, as ‘15 Canvas Study of the Grand Canyon’ sold for over £6 million. A brilliant example of the #style that brought the artist international acclaim, the masterpiece represents the very best of #Hockney’s work. Cy Twombly's deeply poetic ‘Untitled’ work of 1982 was the top lot of the night, while Josef Albers's ‘Homage to the Square: Temperate’ set a new record after energetic bidding in the saleroom drove its price to £2.3 million.
