Early this morning, the rising sun illuminated a flower laid in tribute on the 16 anniversary of the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil. Our staff photographer @damonwinter took this photo at the @911memorial in Lower Manhattan, where New Yorkers gathered today. At the Pentagon National #9/11 Memorial, President @ドナルド・トランプ led a national moment of silence this morning. “On that day not only did the world change, but we all changed,” he said. “Our eyes were opened to the depths of the evil we faced, but in that hour of darkness we also came together with renewed purpose, our differences never looked so small, our common bonds never felt so strong.” The moment of silence was also observed at the Flight 93 Memorial Site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. #911memorial #September11
