Isn't there a pure beauty in a dark night? Today about 2/3rd of human population, over 5 billion people, live under vanished light polluted urban skies where the Milky Way is no longer visible. To many starry sky became a forgotten part of nature, an essential element of our environment, worthy to preserve. Here the bright galactic center is photographed from Australia.
