Photo by @andywcoleman // We watched this active pod of 13 humpback whales bubble net feeding for nearly 3 hours near the town of Angoon in southeast Alaska. This cooperative feeding technique is accompanied by a haunting call used to drive the prey into the tightly formed circle. We had a microphone submerged in the water so we could hear the call before the pod thrust through the surface to capture their meal.
