Photo by @andywcoleman // We got up close and personal with the Dawes Glacier at the end of the Endicott Arm in southeast Alaska, allowing us to experience some dramatic blue chunks of ice falling into the waters below. The noise the glacier makes as it cracks and breaks off is called white thunder - a name that makes sense when you hear (and feel) it for the first time. Taken while on an Expedition aboard the National Geographic Sea Bird. Follow me at @andywcoleman for more images from Alaska and around the world @NatGeoExpeditions #NatGeoStaff
