Game Changer! Did you know that you can freeze your leafy greens?!? I used to throw away so many greens that we just didn't get to before they went bad. You know the smell. The slime. The gag. Ugh! Well, freezing them before they go bad has been one of my go to hacks for a few years now. . How to freeze 'em: • If you're buying ? from a bag that's been pre-washed, just put them in a freezer safe container. No need to wash them again. Just make sure to freeze them BEFORE they start to get discolored or stinky. You can even pick out the nasty ones and freeze the rest. Store in the freezer until you're ready to blend and grab a few handfuls to add to the blender... then put the container back in the freezer. I've even been known to throw a whole plastic container of baby spinach from Costco in the freezer. We were leaving for vacay and I didn't want to toss them and didn't have time to transfer to a freezer safe container. I blended them up when we got back and they were pretty good! . • If you're using ? that haven't been washed, wash them first and dry them on your countertops. Just make sure they are pretty dang dry before you put in a freezer safe container and freeze 'em. Otherwise they will all stick together and be super annoying. I've stored them for a month before and was thrilled with my smoothies. I'm sure they would be good longer, but I like to keep food moving through my fridge and freezer as quick as I can. . I've tried this with kale, spinach, and chard... and it's legit. BUT.... just so ya know I def prefer fresh greens in my smoothies because they do blend even smoother. But if they are going bad before I can use them this is what I do. Hope this is helpful! .
