Taking place every 5 years in the German town of Kassel, documenta is a 100-day long art exhibit, and arguably the most important, often controversial, contemporary art show globally. This year’s documenta14 for the first time began in Athens, Greece on April 7, and on June 10 will open its doors in Kassel, where it may draw one million paying visitors.

Having grown up nearby Kassel, I attended many documenta exhibits in the past and continue to do so whenever possible - and can’t wait to get there this year. Here is a gallery of my images from documenta13 five years ago.
