Taking a page out of the opening chapter of Ralph Ellison’s ‘Invisible Man’, a canon of American literature, Glenn Ligon elevates the written language to a work of art. By layering the stenciled letters, one on top of the other, the audience’s ability to access the writing is limited, encouraging a closer look and perhaps, making the invisible invisible no more… #SothebysContemporary is on view in our #NYC galleries!
