This 110-mile long crack is poised to release a chunk of ice 2,000 square miles, nearly the size of Delaware, sometime soon. Scientists wait with baited breathe -- saying it could be days or mornths. Why does this matter? This one event would not only change the frozen landscape that serves as the heart of the planet driving ocean currents, but it could also raise sea level by 10 centimeters (almost 4 inches), continuing to threaten coastal communities around the globe. #antarctica #climatechange
