The next total solar eclipse on August 21, crossing 14 states in the US, is already nicknamed the Great American Eclipse. “Chasing Eclipses Across 7 Continents” is my latest story for natgeotravel.com. This gallery of 10 images (swipe left) adds to the story, imaging eclipses & their surroundings for 2 decades with #1&2 in Indonesia (March 2016), 3&4 in Kenya showing a ceremonial dance by Samburu people and birds flying to their nests moments before 2013 totality. 5&6 are closeup shots of the Diamond Ring effect and the solar corona during 2009 eclipse (the longest of the century) in the Pacific Ocean. 7&8 are in the Altai Mountains of Siberia (2008). #9 is the annular eclipse of 2005 in Spain and 10 shows me 14 years ago on an amazing trip onboard a Russian icebreaker to see the 2003 eclipse in Antarctica.
